Counselling

How We Work at Sanctuary
At Sanctuary, we believe that trust and safety come first.
We want every client — whether an individual, a parent, or a child — to feel cared for, respected, and supported. Here’s what you can expect when you work with us:
Confidentiality
What you share in counselling stays private.
The only times we may need to share information are if:

- There is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others,
- We believe a child or vulnerable person may be at risk, or we are required to do so by law.
Even in these situations, we will handle matters with care, respect, and transparency.
Privacy & Records
We keep only brief notes to support your counselling process. These are stored securely and never shared without your consent. We follow Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), which means you may ask about your data at any time.
Online Counselling
Most of our sessions are held on Zoom, through a private and secure link.
We will never record your sessions without your consent.
We ask that you join from a quiet and private space so you can feel safe to share openly.
If you are ever in crisis during an online session, we will guide you towards the appropriate emergency services, as we cannot provide emergency response.

Sanctuary is not a 24/7 crisis service. If you need urgent help, please reach out to:
1771 (National Mindline – 24/7 mental health support)
1767 (Samaritans of Singapore – suicide prevention hotline) or WhatsApp 9151 1767
995 for ambulance or 999 for police
Cancellations
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to offer the time to another client who may be waiting.
